New to the Practice?
We would be glad to have you, and there is very little you need to do in advance.
Before your first visit
Complete our new patient forms ahead of time if you can. It saves fifteen minutes in the waiting room. If you would rather fill them in when you arrive, come a little early.
What to bring
A photo ID, your dental insurance card if you have one, and a list of any medications you take. If you have had X-rays elsewhere in the past year, bring them or ask your previous office to send them across. It saves us repeating them.
Insurance and payment
We accept most PPO plans and file claims on your behalf. If you do not have insurance, our Smile Club membership is often a more practical option than an individual policy. Full details are on our payments and insurance page.

I have a dental emergency.
Call us. Gaithersburg (301) 216-1780, Clarksburg (301) 515-5100. We hold time each day for urgent care. If you are having difficulty breathing or swallowing, or swelling that is spreading toward your eye or neck, go to the nearest emergency room instead. More on our emergency dental care page.
What languages do you speak at Tong Dental Care?
Between our two offices, our team speaks Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Hindi, Tagalog, Farsi, Dari, and Dutch, alongside English.
We believe our practice should be a place where families can comfortably discuss health in the language you’re most comfortable in. Your dental treatment is one of those things you want to understand properly before agreeing to it. When you call to book, let us know which language you would prefer. We will schedule you at a time when someone who speaks it is in the office.
I have a billing question.
Call the office where you were seen and ask for the front desk. Having your last statement to hand will speed things up.
I need my records transferred.
Call either office. We will need your written authorization, and we can usually send records to a new provider within a few business days.
How is Children's Dental Care connected to Tong Dental Care?
Children’s Dental Care is a separate practice on Russell Avenue providing dental care for children in a Medicaid office. If your child is covered by Medicaid, this is the right place to call.
